Lauren Merkley

Usually the first question I get asked is,

“L-ah-ren or L-or-en?”

It’s all the same to me.

Originally from the East Coast, Utah has been my home base for the last many, many years. When I’m not working on a project I love to be outside hiking in the beautiful mountains I call my backyard.

My love for visual language started at young age when I hoarded all the family cameras. In middle school I taught myself how to edit on iMovie, before YouTube tutorials existed. I’m still holding on to all those mini DV tapes.

I studied film at Brigham Young University, with an emphasis in cinematography and documentary.
